We invite you to participate in the International Conference on Laser Therapy, which will take place in Sun City, North West Province, South Africa from October 19 - 23, 2008. This conference will be hosted by the Laser Research Group in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Johannesburg supported by the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), National Laser Centre (NLC) and the African Laser Centre (ALC). It is also supported by the department of Chemistry at Rhodes University. WALT2008 is the first international Laser Therapy conference to be hosted on the African Continent. The objective of hosting the conference in South Africa is to provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences and knowledge about Laser Therapy, and to develop and promote international collaboration between continents, countries, universities, research units, laser therapy centres and individual researchers and scientists. It is hoped for that this conference will bring together laser therapists, physicists, biologists, clinicians and educators with the view of promoting and highlighting the significance and importance of laser irradiation as a therapeutic treatment as well as the scientific mechanism underlying Laser Therapy.
